The Taoiseach says the Universal Social Charge brings in too much money to abolish it.

Enda Kenny says there would be a major gap in the public finances if the charge was to be scrapped.

The USC - which was intended to be temporary - brings in over 4 billion euro a year.

But the Taoiseach says he hopes the charge will be cut again in the next Budget.
