The RCC says there is always a spike in callers to its 24-hour helpline over the Christmas and New Year period - but despite that - the reporting rate of rape and sexual assault remains low.
Dublin Rape Crisis Centre CEO Ellen O'Malley Dunlop says the victim is never to blame - and should be aware of their rights.
