In the US, the red carpet at the Oscars is being protected from the rain.

Heavy showers are expected in L.A until tomorrow, over an inch of rain has fallen in Hollywood in the past 24 hours.

Authorities are continuing to evacuate people following the heavy rain, with over 1,000 homes already cleared.

Organisers are putting up plastic marquees to stop the stars getting wet as they make their entrances.

25-thousand square feet of red carpet is covered by a huge plastic tent in order to protect it.
