A teenager has appeared in court in connection with a vicious assault on a group of tourists.
A 28 year old tourist, his girlfriend and her granny flew into Ireland from Boston and decided to go sightseeing.
They went to the town park in Swords to take some photos when a gang started to stand in with them in the pictures.
One of them snatched their camera bag and the 28 year old tourist chased him.The gang then turn on him and assaulted him and his girlfriend as she tried to help.
A 17 year old appeared in court today in connection with the assault and a Garda told the judge the accused, who can’t be named as he’s a minor, had been drinking with a group in the park.
The teenager has been remanded on bail and will appear in court again in March when CCTV footage will be shown.
