The head of the Teachers Union of Ireland says "he's confident" that further strikes over junior cert reform can be avoided.
It comes as Tuesday's industrial action is set to go ahead.
Talks between secondary teachers and the Education Minister broke down last week because teachers don't want to mark their own students exams.
