The Tanaiste has met with Spain’s Justice Minister to discuss ways to tackle gangland crime.
Gardai have already acknowledged there’s a massive international dimension to investigating the Hutch/Kinahan feud. Spain and Ireland are hugely interlinked as part of the investigation into the gangland feud.
Crime boss Christy Kinahan has lived on the Costa del Sol for a number of years. While Dublin man Gary Hutch was murdered near Marbella last September.
The Tanaiste has met with the Spanish Justice Minister to discuss how police in both countries can help each other in the fight against organised crime groups.
Frances Fitzgerald says the cooperation between Spain and Ireland is crucial in targeting the gangs and both countries are committed to maintaining it.
In the coming weeks Spanish police are due to fly here as the investigations continue into the Hutch/Kinahan feud.
