A man accused of killing a father of one while he slept in his bed in Tallaght will stand trial next year.
James Humphries died after being stabbed several times in September 2013.
The 32 year old father of one, was stabbed as he slept in a bed at a house on Kiltalown Way in Tallaght.
He’d been drinking heavily all day and it’s believed he was attacked just hours after watching the Dublin footballers win the All-Ireland final.
He managed to stumble out of the house and raise the alarm but lost his fight for life a short time later.
Trevor Corr, who lives at the address where Mr. Humphries was stabbed, is accused of murdering him.
He was granted bail following his first court appearance and a trial date has now been set.
A jury will be sworn in before the Central Criminal Court this December.
Over 30 witnesses will be called to give evidence in a trial that’s expected to take up to two weeks.
