A Tallaght man has admitted killing another man - who he suspected of being the getaway driver in the shooting dead of his uncle.

The scorched body of Adel Essalhi was found in a ditch behind the Tyrellstown Plaza in January 2011.

A post mortem on Adel Essalhi showed he had been beaten and stabbed up to 60 times and his body was bleached before being set on fire.

Michael Kinsella from Swiftrbook Close in Tallaght had pleaded not guilty to his murder and a jury failed to reach a verdict in his first trial in 2014. A retrial was ordered and he again pleaded not guilty.

But this afternoon – he’s admitted being guilty of manslaughter which has been accepted by the DPP. His uncle Wayne Kinsella was convicted of killing Mr Essalhi in 2012.

The court heard the men had been drinking with the victim when they came to the belief that he had been involved in the killing of Wayne’s brother Lee a few years ago.
