Tensions between a Tallaght man and a gang of young men in his area have reached boiling point, according to locals.
A riot almost broke out in broad daylight yesterday after he was surrounded by the group who had armed themselves with various weapons.
The man at the centre of this feud posted a video of yesterday’s confrontation online. It shows him armed with a hatchet as a group of young men with crowbars, bats and crowbars closed in on him in Brookview.
The reason behind the hostility isn’t clear, but he claims he’s being wrongly accused of threatening someone in the area.
Nobody was injured yesterday, but locals believe the situation is now out of control and they fear it’s only a matter of time before blood is shed.
