Talks are continuing at the Workplace Relations Commission to try and avert tomorrow's rail strike.

Over 40 thousand commuters were affected by the last work stoppage which took place on the Friday of the October bank holiday weekend.

Irish Rail say they lost over half a million Euro in fares over the three hours that trains weren't running.

The row centres on pay and past productivity.

Unions say the process is complex and there's no quick fix while management were hoping for the talks to conclude quickly so that passengers will know where they stand.

If the strike does go ahead tomorrow, there will be no DART, commuter or intercity services running from 6am to 9am.

However, the following routes will operate as they start before 6am and will stop at their designated stations along the way:

  • 05:20 Athlone Heuston will operate
  • 05:20 Westport Heuston will operate to Athlone only
  • 05:27 Connolly Maynooth will operate
  • 05:30 Galway Heuston will operate
  • 05:30 Limerick Heuston will operate
  • 05:30 Galway Heuston will operate
  • 05:35 Rosslare Dundalk will operate
  • 05:40 Dundalk Pearse will operate to Connolly only
  • 05:40 Longford Pearse will operate to Connolly only
  • 05:40 Portlaoise Heuston will operate
  • 05:45 Sligo Connolly will operate
  • 05:50 Cork Heuston will operate
  • 05:55 Gorey Connolly will operate
  • 06:50 Belfast Connolly will operate
