A Greek Government Minister says a Syrian passport was found near one the body of one of last night's gunmen in Paris, and that the holder of the passport was a refugee who crossed into the European Union through the Greek island of Leros in October.

IS has claimed responsibility for the attacks - which killed up to 129 people and left 180 others injured.

Eight terrorists were killed - seven by suicide. French police say one of the bombers was a young Frenchman with links to Islamic extremism.

Migrants rights groups are stressing this evening that many of the refugees flooding into Europe are fleeing the exact kind of violence that was carried out in Paris last night.

Major Islamic Organisations in Ireland have condemned the attack, saying it 'cannot be justified under any circumstances'. They've also moved to distance the Muslim faith from 'violent and brutal' acts.

Archbishop Diarmuid Martin says last night's attacks shouldn't affect our attitude towards asylum seekers:

Meanwhile, a 41 year old French man has been arrested at Gatwick Airport, after the discovery of a 'suspect device'. The North Terminal was evacuated - but has since reopened. The airport is warning of flight delays.
