More than half the electorate are against allowing migrants fleeing war-torn countries in North Africa to settle here.
The latest Irish Times/Ipsos MRBI poll found 52 per cent of voters didn't think Ireland should offer to resettle migrants as part of the EU response to the Mediterranean crisis.
Of 1200 people surveyed, those in the 18 to 24 year old category were most strongly in favour of the proposal, while those aged 25 to 34 were most strongly against.
