A ban on so-called "happy hours" for sunbed use comes into effect today.
The new regulations block unlimited or free use of tanning beds.
It also means warning signs will have to be displayed at salons and protective eyewear will have to be worn.
The new rules follow a ban on sunbeds for under 18s, introduced last summer.
The Irish Cancer Society has welcomed the regulations but says they don't go far enough.
