Some Hotels Hike Prices After Taylor Swift Announces Two Concerts

Some hotels in Dublin have already hiked their prices hours after Taylor Swift announced she was bringing her tour here.

The popstar is set to perform two dates in June 2024 at the Aviva Stadium.

Booking.com has listed a price of €999.99 for a triple room in one Dublin hotel on the night of the concert – with the current price for the same room set at €379.

However, the Irish Hotels’ Federation has warned that this is because booking agents often list a standard price of €999.99 when a date is farther than one year out.

Hotels have noted that far lower prices are available if you contact them directly.

Green Party Leader Eamon Ryan has strongly criticised the hikes and say they damages our reputation.

''It's shocking. It's not worth it. It's not right. We have a real issue when you get that sort of pricing. It does a lot of reputational damage. It's a very hard thing to regulate.''

However, hoteliers have hit back at the claims.

The Irish Hotel Federation says the vast majority of Irish hotels do not make rooms available online any earlier than one year out.

It says that means there is currently almost no hotel availability through online booking engines, given the dates for the concerts are over a year away.
