A number of shots were fired during an armed robbery at a post office in Blackrock.
It happened at half past two at Woodbine Park when a masked man entered the premises.
He threatened staff and some customers before fleeing on foot empty handed.
Gardaí say he was challenged by a male passer-by who received minor injuries and the suspect got away.
