Alan Shatter says he plans to donate €70,000 to a children's charity.
The former Justice Minister is entitled to a severance payment after stepping down from his ministerial position earlier this month.
Mr. Shatter says he will be donating the money from the so-called "golden handshake" to The Jack and Jill Foundation.
