According to the Irish Independent, official records supplied by Gardai show some parts of the capital experienced a 50 per-cent increase in burglaries, particularly in areas such as Kilmainham, Crumlin and Terenure.
Overall, property crime across Dublin has increased by 2% - a total of 559 burglaries were investigated by Gardai.
Meanwhile, the statistics show a fall in crimes like public order offences and cases involving the sale and supply of drugs.
