A Shankill man has gone on trial for murder and assault causing harm.

Wayne Kennedy of Rathsallagh Park is accused of murdering David Spain, and stabbing his friend Sean Turner in the stomach.

The court heard that Sean Turner, a professional heavyweight boxer, received a text from Wayne Kennedy at around 4.45 am on St. Stephen's Day, 2013

The two men arranged a fist fight in Rathsallagh Park over a €50 debt.

Mr. Kennedy allegedly brought a kitchen knife with him to the meeting, and stabbed Mr. Turner twice in the stomach.

Mr. Turner lost five pints of blood and had emergency surgery. He has now made a full recovery.

Mr. Turner's friend, David Spain then ran after Mr. Kennedy, and Mr. Spain was then stabbed to death.

Pictures of blood leading up to Mr. Kennedy's house have been shown to the jury.

Mr. Kennedy denies attacking these men and is pleading not guilty.
