Shane MacGowan's Mother Theresa MacGowan has died in a tragic car accident.
Tributes have been pouring in since the accident that occurred yesterday.
Mrs. MacGowan was driving on the outskirts of Ballintoher Co. Tipperary when her car hit a wall.
Mrs MacGowan was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was taken to University Hospital Limerick for a post-mortem examination.
Local Labour TD Alan Kelly said: ‘Along with her husband, they are held in high regard with great affection.She will be sorely missed by all the people in Silvermines and surrounds."
