A convicted sex offender wanted by police in the UK has been arrested at Dublin airport.
The 19 year old was attempted to flee the country.
In April Mian Shahid was convicted of two counts of sexual assault on a young woman in the UK.
He was sentenced in his absence to two and a half years in jail.
British police issued a European arrest warrant when it emerged he had travelled to Ireland.
Gardai appealed for the public's help and he was spotted in Limerick last month.
Then last night Shahid was arrested at Dublin Airport at around 20 to 11 trying to board a flight to Dubai.
He is being held at Clontarf Garda Station and is expected to appear before the High Court later today.
