Second level teachers have announced two days of strikes over plans to reform the Junior Cert.
The ASTI and TUI unions will strike on Tuesday December 2nd and another day in January.
The unions which represent 27 thousand teachers, say their key concerns about internal assessment are yet to be addressed by the Department of Education.
Education Minister Jan O'Sullivan said the teachers' decision to strike is disappointing and disproportionate.
General secretary of the ASTI Pat King said they regret having to take this action, but they have no choice.
