Secondary teachers unions have confirmed that a one day strike will take place next month.
The executives of the ASTI and TUI have announced that the stoppage will take place on the 22nd of January - and say a third strike day may follow if necessary.
The unions say they are still open to talks with the Education Minister with a view to resolving the row - over the marking of Junior Cert papers.
