Garda divers will resume their searches at Lough Owel in Co Westmeath for two missing Dublin men.

Gardai last night issued an appeal for information about the movements of the car in which both men traveled to Cavan in on Tuesday evening.

The car was found in a car park at Lough Owel off the N4 outside Mullingar in the early hours of yesterday morning.

32 year old Eoin O'Connor and 33 year old Anthony Keegan from Coolock haven't been seen since they left the capital to travel to Ballyjamesduff in Cavan on Tuesday evening.

A search of the area was launched while a local appeal was issued to farmers to report any unusual activity.

Searches then focused on Lough Owel after the silver grey ford focus they were travelling in was discovered in the car park just before four o'clock on Friday morning.

Gardai are now asking for the publics help in tracing the movements of the car.

The car was taken away for a forensic examination.
