A search has resumed this morning in North Dublin for a missing Icelandic man.

Jon Jonsson was last seen in Whitehall on the morning of February 9th, 2019.

The second day of the search is focusing on a section of Santry Park close to the old Airport Road.

Two cadaver dogs are being used to comb the area, five years on from the disappearance of Jon Jonnson.

The search came on the back of two anonymous correspondence received by gardai investigating the case.

They have declined to give further details on what these tip offs said.

The location at Santry Park is about 3 kilometres from where Mr Jonsson was last seen after leaving the Bonnington Hotel, where he was staying for a poker tournament.

Last Friday Jon Johnsson’s sister and brother made an emotional appeal for any fresh information on the disappearance of the 41 year old.

Reporting from Stephanie Rohan.
