Sales Down In Shops This Christmas

With traffic delays, long shops queues and ATM's strained by the excess use, it's hard not to think Christmas shopping was extremely busy this year - however it still wasn't as bustling at 2012.

Retail Excellence Ireland says sales could even be down on last year.

The group representing retailers has confirmed that Christmas trading has been quite slow compared to previous years.

With the budget moved to October and more positive economic signs, retailers were hoping for a busier festive period.
