Justice Minister Frances Fitzgerald will bring a report into the removal of two Roma children from their families in Dublin and Westmeath to cabinet today.
Its understood to be critical of authorities who took the kids last year.
These separate cases came to light last October when a 7 year old Roma girl was taken from her parents home in Tallaght and a 2 year old boy was removed from his home in Athlone following concerns about their identities.
The children were placed into state care but were later returned to their parents after DNA testing.
A report by the Children's Ombudsman Emily Logan examined why the children were removed from their families by gardai.
The report due out today, is expected to be critical of those involved.
