It has now been over a week since a baby girl was found at the side of a Dublin Road.
Yesterday, Gardaí renewed their appeal for her mother to come forward.
Baby Maria was found on Steelstown Lane in Rathcoole last Friday.
She had been placed inside a Marks and Spencer bag with a Penneys fleece throw and a black bin liner wrapped around her.
Gardai are now awaiting DNA results from the fleece blanket and are also appealing for the mother of Baby Maria to come forward, saying she has ‘nothing to fear’.
They say they are very concerned for her welfare.
Yesterday, Gardai carried out a leaflet enquiry in the area, in the hope of 'jogging peoples memory'
The Child and Family Agency Tusla has been granted a care order for the little girl.
But for the moment the newborn remains in the Coombe hospital, where she’s said to be doing well.
