The Referendum Commission says voters need to check with their local authority to see what kind of ID they need next week.

It’s after some people who’ve received their polling cards expressed concern that a civil partnership cert can’t be used as proof but a marriage cert can.

Polling day is just a week away and the Yes side have received two major boosts.

Singer Daniel O’Donnell is the latest person to say he's voting Yes on May 22nd.

The Donegal native says he believes everyone should be treated equally and that it won't make life anyway different.

While TV3’s political Editor Ursula Halligan has revealed that she’s gay saying posters from the No side meant she couldn't stay quiet anymore.

"The referendum forced me to confront the issue head on. I realised I couldn't sit on the fence. It was just too personal, it was my life. I knew this was a big historic moment and I thought I cannot remain silent on this issue".

Meanwhile, No campaigners are continuing to raise concerns that a Yes vote will give gay couples the automatic right to surrogacy.

Anne Murray of the Catholic Comment says it will have a major impact on how families are perceived by society.

"What we're proposing is to say that the marriage between a man and a woman; a marriage of a man and a man and woman and woman is exactly the same, that's just not true. I mean how can a man and a man and a woman and a woman have a child without a third party becoming involved, it's simply not biologically possible".
