Saoirse Ronan says there is no other option but for the country to come out and vote Yes in the same-sex marriage referendum.

The referendum is taking place on Friday and the Oscar nominated actress is in Dublin to lend her voice to the campaign.

The young star says she hopes that Irish people protect the rights of future generations by voting Yes;

Meanwhile Mothers and Fathers Matter, a group campaigning for a NO vote, has launched its final video ahead of the referendum.

It explains why the issue at stake is not equality but the future of marriage and the family.

The video features two gay men explaining why they'll be voting No as they do not believe the referendum is about accepting or rejecting gay people, it is about recognising the unique roles men and women play in the lives of their children.
