People whose homes are affected by pyrite will be able to apply for state funding from today to fix the problem.

The Pyrite Resolution Board will assess applications from householders who have experienced subsidence and cracks in their properties.

The board has an initial budget of 10 million euro .

The scheme applies only to houses that were built between 1997 and 2013 in Dublin City and Fingal Council areas, as well as in counties Meath, Kildare and Offaly.

Peter Lewis of the Pyrite Action Group is encouraging anyone who thinks their home may be affected to get in touch with the Resolution Board:
