A new scheme will see every 150 houses in Dublin have its own dedicated garda.
The ‘back to basics’ programme will eventually be rolled out to the rest of the country.
The Gardai will be personally responsible for knowing every resident and all residents will be encouraged to give feedback.
Victims of crime will be prioritised in the scheme, 43,000 victims have already been spoken to as part of the pilot.
