Students who fail a subject in their Leaving Cert will still get 37 points.
That's if they get between 30 and 39 per cent in a higher-level paper.
According to the Irish Independent it's part of the major overhaul of the CAO points system which is being rolled out in September for incoming fifth year students and will kick in for the 2017 exams.
Education Minister Jan O'Sullivan is expected to reveal full details next month.
