Plans To Refurbish O'Devaney Gardens For Homeless

It's hoped homeless families will be moved into the vacant flats where Love Hate was filmed by September.

There had been plans to demolish and regenerate O'Devaney Gardens but that was put on hold because of the crash.

Now it' on hold again, while they're used as a temporary measure to ease the homeless crisis.

400 families are to spend six months each in the flats over the next five years, but Sinn Fein's Janice Boylan - who grew up in O'Devaney Gardens - says that's wishful thinking.

She has concerns about how this scheme may affect the longterm plans for the redevelopment of the flat complex:
