Dublin City Council is set to close off roads to allow children to play.
It's hoped the plan will encourage kids to go outside and also generate a greater community spirit.
The play orders scheme could see temporary road closures put in place in selected areas around the city so kids can play near their homes and interact more with neighbours.
The roads would be either fully or partially cosed for a number of hours every month or two.
The idea which was put forward in 2013, has now progressed to the pilot stage with Clancarthy Road in Donnycarney chosen for the trial.
No exact date has been given yet as the council is still drawing up the plans.
