A former solicitor will be sentenced today for stealing almost €3m from his clients.
Ruairi O'Ceallaigh admitted carrying out the thefts while he worked at his father's practice in Phibsboro between July 2006 and May 2010.
O'Ceallaigh from Summerhill in Co. Meath was arrested in December in connection with missing funds from client accounts at his family's firm.
The former solicitor admits stealing around €2.8m over a four year period beginning in July 2006.
The amounts range from €75,000 to €1.5m and the charge sheet names seven victims.
His reasons for taking the money and his methods of doing so will be outlined at his sentence hearing which has been pencilled in for today.
