Gardai are appealing for witnesses to a collision in which a 25 year old man was seriously injured.

The pedestrian was hit by a car at the junction of Crumlin Road and Bangor Drive at around 6am.

He was rushed to St James hospital.

The road's been closed for a technical examination.

Meanwhile the fire service is asking people to consider their actions if they're tempted to take photos of accidents.

It's after two year old Daenerys Crosbie was killed after being hit by a truck in Waterford on Tuesday.

Fire crews say they were 'astounded' by the number of people with their smartphones out taking pictures of the scene.
