Patrick O’Brien will be handed a new sentence next month after the Court of Appeal ruled the original sentence for raping his daughter was unduly lenient
The 74-year-old from Oldcourt in Bray, Co. Wicklow was jailed for three years for inflicting a decade of abuse on Fiona Doyle at their home in Dun Laoghaire.
His case led to a public outcry after he was granted bail following his sentence hearing in Jan 2013.
