Four out of five Irish parents contribute more than 400 euro a month to support one child with their college expenses.
Research carried out by the Irish League of Credit Unions, shows parents are saving for up to 8 years to put one child through college.
The survey's also found that the majority of Irish students are working throughout the academic year to help fund their studies.
