Revenue officers seized more than 2 million cigarettes with a street value of €1.1 million at Dublin Port yesterday afternoon.
The smuggled cigarettes, were branded as ‘JIM’ and had been found in containers marked ‘wood pellets’.
The contraband was found by Revenue officers, who had originally been given a tip off about the delivery. The illegal cigarettes had come from Vietnam via Rotterdam.
Revenue officers carried out a follow up search under warrant of a business premises in Co. Cork.
