One man's died and dozens have been hurt in lightning strikes across Europe.
The man was killed as he was climbing down a mountain in Poland.
33 people were injured at a football match in Western Germany. The strikes hit shortly after the game finished at about 2 p.m.
And 11 people, mainly children, were struck at a park in Paris while sheltering under a tree.
Police spokesman Dominik Lentz told n-tv television, ''There were no clouds in the sky … so that this incident couldn’t have been expected."
Doctor Liz Bentley, from the UK's Royal Meteorological Society, says although lightning's not unusual this time of year - yesterday was out of the ordinary:
