Two thousand traffic officers in the Philippines will be wearing adult nappies when Pope Francis visits next week.
The head of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority says the idea was “well received” by his staff when it was put to them this week.
Francis Tolentino says there won’t be enough portable toilets for the millions of people expected to attend open air mass with the Pope - and is encouraging priests, nuns, and the elderly to also wear nappies.
Asked if he'll be wearing one, Tolentino said he has "less hydration".
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority has defended it's actions, adding that officers working at the 2008 Olympics also wore adult nappies.
