President Obama is expected to meet the US Attorney General today to discuss ways of reducing gun violence in the United States.
It's reported he intends to take executive action which would mean bypassing Congress.
It could mean more background checks for gun buyers to deal with the situation which he has described as an "epidemic".
Guns claim more than 30,000 lives in America each year, over half of which are suicides.
