The number of guns and drugs seized by gardai last year has increased.
The data was revealed in the annual report of the gardai.
Last year the force seized 698 illegally held guns which was the first increase for five years.
Also seized was almost 700 million euro worth of drugs in 43 significant hauls.
The value of drugs found was up 78 percent on the previous year.
However only a fraction was destined fro the Irish market.
The report also showed that 600 organised crime gangs were investigated and over 200 thousand penalty points were issued.
