The City Council has come up with a new plan to clear Dublin's streets of abandoned bikes.
With more and more people cycling into the city centre the need for parking space is in high demand.
Speaking on behalf of the Council's Transport Section Christopher Manzira said "We would be tagging the bikes as we notice them. We would leave the tag in place for three months to give people an opportunity to remove their bike."
"If the tag is removed and the bike is not moved then we will put a second tag for a shorter period. And if the bike is still there, we will remove it", he explained.
A council meeting discussing the idea heard that many bikes are being left parked up for long periods of time.
