Irish Rail is asking for passengers' feedback on its proposed new Phoenix Park tunnel services. From the end of the year, seven extra trains will run from Newbridge and Hazelhatch every morning right into Grand Canal Dock via Drumcondra, Connolly, Tara Street and Pearse Station.
8 trains will run in the opposite direction for the evening rush hour. It means someone getting on the train at Cherry Orchard or Adamstown for instance can travel right into the docklands, without getting off at Heuston or Connolly having to switch to Dublin Bus or the Luas.
Irish Rail says current services to and from Heuston will be maintained but there are some minor changes to the routes, so commuters are asked to take a look at the draft timetables and share their thoughts.
Comments, concerns and suggested changes can be put to Irish Rail until the 19th of September.
