A collapsible rubbish holder, that protects refuse sacks until they're collected, has gone on trial in Dublin city centre.

Bagbin helps keep rubbish bags from being ripped open by seagulls and rats.

More than a thousand streets in Dublin are exempt from using wheelie bins because their properties are unsuitable to store them.

The new plastic bins, that can be folded flat, went on trial on Drury Street this week.

The trial is expected to last six months -with other areas of the city centre also expected to test out the design.
