A swimming pool in the heart of the city and new housing for people who become homeless.

Hidden Rooms is part of the Pivot Dublin initiative to see how the city can move forward.

16 proposals were put forward following discussions over the last two days and it's hoped some of the pilot projects will get off the ground in 2015.

They'll target a number of areas including homelessness.

Ali Grehan is the Dublin City Architect, she says one of the ideas could be a solution to the problem:

"200 homes, on a site, and those homes would be targetted at people who find themselves homeless at the moment."

Another idea is a floating swimming pool, either on the North Quays or Grand Canal dock.

Esther Gerrard is the founder of Bloomfringe and a landscape architect – she says the idea could be in place next Summer.

"There is swimming in Grand Canal Dock anyway and there's lots of water sports going on there. With a little bit of infrastructure you can make it safe to swim there as well."

Other ideas discussed were making College Green more pedestrian friendly as well as regenerating many of the flat complexes owned by the city council.
