National Bike Week is drawing to a close - but drivers are again being reminded of extra traffic over the final weekend of the campaign.

Events will be taking place around the country today and tomorrow, and motorists are urged to leave the car at home.

Some of the key events that are left to take place this weekend are 'Freedom Machine Bike to the Bikefest!' where you can join a large group of cycling women in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the right to vote for women, as they make their way for a day of fun and festivities in St Anne's Park, Sunday 17th June between 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

The 'Cabinteely Park Bike Fest' is a spectacular cycle themed festival event featuring Bike Tune Ups, Bling UR Bike decorations, Cycling Information, Food and Smoothies made by a pedal-powered Smoothie maker. Strolling entertainment will come from “Cycle Circus” performers and Street Entertainers. The centrepiece of BikeFest will be a unique cycle stunt show from Ben Savage's Savage Skills. Savage Skills riders have set Guinness World Records and won World Championships with their unrivalled abilities on two wheels. That takes place between 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturday 16th June.

The event that covers it all to finish off National Bike Week is the 'Cycling Ireland Bike Fest 2018'. A fun learning experience on the bike to children of all ages. The festival offers a good balance between the learning of new skills in our coached skills zones featuring Sprocket Rocket, Gearing Up off Road, road cycling skills and balance bikes along with providing a relaxed atmosphere in the picnic area. This event will be on at St. Annes Park, between 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday 17th June.
