A man has died in a motorcycle crash in County Clare.
The man in his 40's was participating in a rally when the incident occurred at about 11.45am.
It's understood he was the lead rider in the rally when his motorbike collided with a car.
Several units of emergency services attended the scene and he was airlifted by Shannon Rescue 115 to University Hospital Limerick with critical injuries - however he has since passed away.
The female driver of the vehicle was also taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries.
The stretch of road is currently closed to facilitate a forensic examination of the scene.
