Moore Street Traders Should Receive Compensation, Report Finds

Dublin's Moore Street needs urgent restoration, according to a new report.

The Moore Street Advisory Group says a committee for the proposed visitor centre needs to be established.

They recommend local community volunteers and relatives of 1916 heros should be on the committee while people with a vested commercial interest in the attraction should be omitted.

The report found that the traders on Moore Street would not be able to operate once the redevelopment is complete.

It recommends a once-off payment be made as compensation to the traders.
